It was a scorcher on this typical Saturday afternoon. When I arrived at the beautiful wedding location, I was met by a group of very helpful groomsmen who seemed extremely anxious to get this day underway.
I scouted several locations for a brief minute to see where was the sweet to begin the photography and decided we would begin on the grounds of the beautiful Mynelle Gardens. Well remember what I had said earlier about an unpredictable afternoon? It just proved to be just that! Rain came right over our heads in a matter of seconds before my my idea of outdoor formals was put to a screeching halt.
A little downpour would definitely not get into the way of a sch an otherwise beautiful day. We immediately got started in a little nook of the building.
With the guys hanging around and having a little fun, I couldn’t help but notice the little ones both curious and playful, in their own little worlds.
If you can remember Jermaine’s e-session, you may remember how easy it was for me to photograph him. Today would be just as easy and with the help of a beautiful location, this guy was a superstar!
As I waited for Latoya and her girls to arrive, this was an opportunity for me to capture all the little details of the day. The color pallet was very tasteful and all the details helped make a beautiful backdrop in which to capture the day.
So they had arrived and they were READY! These women had a sense of feminism and vogue about them and I wanted to be sure to capture the essence of what I was feeling. In this first image was the classy vogue style that I felt.
In this image, I wanted to soften it up a bit and express the essence of woman.
And let us not forget the little ones. This image was captured while they were all patiently waiting for the wedding to start. They were typical busy girls, but I was able to get a quick grab while they waited for their moment to walk down the aisle.
I don’t normally post group photos here but I really wanted to give you a sense of what it’s like to have group photos with NYT. No “line ’em up and shoot ’em style” here. Groups are posed gracefully and harmoniously.
I almost forgot to show you the bridal prep! It takes a lot of work to prepare for a day as big as your wedding day but Latoya held her composure in this 90+ degree heat.
A fun moment during the ceremony.
If you’ve been to a wedding before, you know what the sand ceremony is all about.
Wait a minute guys! This kiss lasted almost minutes! Did you forget we were outdoors with little to no shade? Just kidding! The moment of time where the groom kissed his new bride was one that any in attendance will always remember. It was a very passionate and heart felt kiss that we all felt as onlookers of this beautiful ceremony.
We took advantage of the grounds of this historic venue immediately following the ceremony.
Wow! Latoya made for such a beautiful bride (even with temperatures soaring higher as the day progressed).
Some may wonder just what reception coverage is like since many reception photos are never posted for anyone to see. Now THIS is a reception. No on camera flash and no computer animation. This is the result of experience and technique. This is NYT wedding coverage!
As we close the day, I thought it would be appropriate to show the symbol of this union – the rings.
Congratulations Latoya+Jermaine and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day.
